Ink & Me
In all of my works, I aim to communicate emotion & movement through an organic flow of lines; odd shapes , dimensions , landscapes & unusual light sources to create the illusion of subtle motion.
Early works have seen the use of inks from a wide variety of sources such as fine pens, markers and traditional pen & inks on paper and canvas, in later works Acrylic paints have been incorporated. Color is seldom used in my early work, but is at times in my latest works.
My work is not clearly defined when viewed, black does not "always" suggest night. This is, off course left to your interpretation. Just the same, a moon/sun could or could not mean an actual moon/sun, . . . they could just be symbolic.
Sensual/visual deprivation is a small part of my "style", in terms of deleting the concept of the usual "color" definitions from the persons viewpoint. I find that if you take away the colors that define our minds natural interpretations of what we perceive to be the obvious mood, theme, depth, feel and even time of day, then . . this can open up different perspectives and feelings to our minds "eye".
Leaving more to your imagination in terms of the overall situation. Your own personal & unique outlook is now free to decide the setting and/or situation, freeing the interpretation of your mind.
Everyone will see and feel something different when viewing my work, the viewers own mindset will not always mirror my works original intention.
